Smarter Insurance offers businesses a quick and easy way to get an insurance quote and buy a policy online. We have relationships with leading insurers for business products, which allows us to offer a wide choice on product and price, and to cover a wide range of businesses.
How long will it take?Back to top
For Professional Indemnity insurance, we can provide instant quotes based on the information given on our quote form. The quotes are valid for 28 days and the full insurance documents can be viewed and the policy bought within minutes on our website.
What if I need help with the quote – who do I speak to?Back to top

Can I get quotes by phone?Back to top
Yes, you can for all of our products. That’s why we are different – you choose the way you want to deal with us. If you were to call us, a member of our team would simply take you through the same questions as those on the online form. If you would like a quotation you can call us on the following numbers:

I’ve got an online quote, what’s next? Back to top
For Professional Indemnity insurance, once you click ‘proceed’ from the quote page the quote summary page shows you these best price we have found for you from our panel of insurers. Depending on the product there may be a number of cover options on the left hand side of the screen, where you can add additional cover options to your quote. As you select a cover option the price is automatically regenerated on the right hand side of the screen. This allows you to select the cover options which meet your requirements best. For each quote you see listed you can check out the full policy documentation, including any exclusions and excess notifications. A secure personal account is automatically set up for you, at this point, which contains your quotes, and policies. Once you are happy with your quote click ‘proceed’ and then complete a number of underwriting proposal questions. From there select the payment option and complete the relevant details. From there the sale is complete.
What if I don’t meet the underwriting criteria?Back to top
Don’t worry; we may still be able to get you a quote as we access to a wide number of insurance providers. Our underwriters will assess your details and the product we have available and will contact you as quickly as possible to discuss your options.
How can I view my quotes after I’ve left your website?Back to top
For Professional Indemnity insurance, once you have created your quote you will receive an email giving you access to your personal and secure section of the site. This will list all your quotes and policies. Your quotes are valid for 30 days in your online account. To access your account go to the Smarter Insurance homepage, choose ‘My Account’ from the top menu, and login using the email address and password you gave on your quotation form.
What if I forget my password?Back to top
There is a forgotten password link on the logon page which will send a system generated password to the registered email address we hold for you.
Can I change this password?Back to top
Yes, once you login there is a change password option so that you can select a memorable password for yourself.
How can I pay?Back to top
You can pay by a single payment by credit or debit card. All payment types are displayed at the bottom of the home page. You can also spread the cost of your insurance by using our instalment facility. This is available on premiums exceeding a certain amount. If you qualify, this will be offered when you are on the payment page.
What if I am having problems paying online – what should I do?Back to top
If you are having problems paying online, call us on 0845 603 7597. We can then guide you through the payment process and help resolve any issues that may occur.
When and how do I receive my insurance documents? Back to top
For Professional Indemnity insurance, once you have completed your purchase you will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. Included in this email is a copy of all your insurance documents, including the insurance schedule and certificate.
Are these documents valid though? Don’t I need a copy sent by post? Back to top
The documents that you receive are legal documents and are suitable to be presented to whom ever wishes to see proof of your insurance.
What if I need another copy of my insurance documents? Back to top
All your insurance documents can be accessed from the site using your email and a password to login. Just select the document that you require and you can download it and print it.
Can I download my policy documents?Back to top
For Professional Indemnity, you can download your own policy documents to store on your computer. Simply login to your account and select the documents relating to your policy. Click the icons to download the ones you want. All your documents are permanently stored in your customer account so you can download and/or print them as many times as you like.
I can’t log in to my accountBack to top
If you are unable to login to your account, first make sure you are using the correct email address. This is the one you used when first getting quotes for your insurance. If you are sure your email is correct, try re-setting your password by clicking the ‘Forgotten Password’ link. If you still cannot login, please contact us on 0845 607 0515 or email us at info@smarter-insurance.co.uk.
What should I do if I can’t remember the email address for my account? Back to top
The email address used on your account is the same one we used to send you your quotes and all your policy documents. If you really can’t remember it, please contact us on 0845 607 0515 or email us at info@smarter-insurance.co.uk.
Do you send anything by post?Back to top
No. All your documentation is sent using email. We do, however, send a letter at renewal time just in case you have changed your email address.
How can I make changes to my policy?Back to top
If you would like to make any changes to your policy you can contact us on the following numbers:

What if I want to change the start date on my policy?Back to top
If your cover hasn’t started yet and you need to change the start date, please contact us on 0845 603 7597. Alternatively you can email us at info@smarter-insurance.co.uk.
What about renewal?Back to top
Our renewal process starts about 23 days before your renewal date when we look for the best renewal policy for you. To ensure you don’t miss your renewal date, we’ll send you a letter and email outlining the renewal details and how to renew. We do not currently renew your policy automatically when you reach your expiry date. It’s therefore very important that you renew your cover before the expiry date to ensure your cover is continuous. You can renew online or by contacting us on the above numbers.
